Make A Point Of Having Fun, It'll Help You Get Through Life

On Friday, I baked oatmeal cookies.
I never really have a strong desire to bake, so I don't do it very often. I had just gotten home from working the whole day, and woke up from a short nap with the urge to bake.
I was craving my grandma's cookies the week before, and my grandma only really bakes one thing, and that is oatmeal craisin & white chocolate chip cookies. So that's what it had to be.
I went in search of a recipe for oatmeal cookies and found this recipe on Smitten Kitchen and just substituted raisins for craisins, walnuts for white chocolate chips, and doubled it. I have to say they turned out great!
The one thing I'm terrible at, whether I'm cooking or baking, is deciding when it is time to take something out of the oven. Luckily my friend Justin was there to give me a second opinion!
I'll definitely be making them again, which I'm sure Ben will be happy to hear.
We also had a potluck and house show at our house that night, so we grilled, drank gin & tonics, and listened to sweet music. It was a pretty swell night.
I ended up baking half of the cookies that night for the show-goers, and the other half went to our moms on Easter. I was just glad to get the majority of them out of our apartment (I'm terrible around sweets).
I got this new cardigan on clearance and I look like I'm ready for fall! I really love it though, plus I was just ready to have a comfy, relaxing night.

You Can't Break My Heart Because It's Made of Vinyl Records and Rare Collectibles

This past Saturday Ben and I had a much-needed date day. After having three exams last week on top of work being insanely busy the entire weekend, I was relieved to do something that would make me feel a little more like myself.
We spent the morning watching Mad Men and eating french toast in our pajamas.
We got ready and went to this antique store filled to the brim with quirky old things.
We came home with these!
After antiquing, we had lunch at a sweet little café with excellent food.
After lunch, we went to Lakeshore Records and bought some new vinyl. I finally picked up Wincing the Night Away by The Shins. I'm not sure why it took me so long to finally buy. I've been eyeing it for a while, plus I will forever love The Shins. Anyway, it's finally in my possession which is exciting!
After all of that Ben was sweet enough to take a few photos of my outfit at the park.
